Riding a Bobsled at over 80MPH

What could you learn about what it REALLY takes to succeed in life if you spent 2-3 days with: a Mt. Everest climber, an Olympic downhill skier, a three-time Olympic luger, and two extremely successful entrepreneurs that happen to be marketing experts?

What would happen if you got to spend some quality time rubbing shoulders with a group of entrepreneurs who live on the edge every day? Would you start taking greater risks? Would you start making big things happen in YOUR business?

On March 13-15, 2007, fifteen people will have a unique opportunity to take their personal and professional lives to the top at our annual High Achievers Winter Camp. Two and a half days of high-octane fun!

Come join us for an experience that will transform your business and your life!

Zig and Jeanne Ziglar and I in Tucson

I just got back from Tucson where we got to spend a great day inspiring and teaching 4000 people success principles. I had the pleasure of meeting Zig’s wife Jeanne. I’d heard about Jeanne in Zig’s tapes and his presentations. Zig calls Jeanne a decided redhead. One day she just decided to become a redhead!

We had breakfast together and had a blast. Hopefully next time my wife Cheryl will be there to make it a foursome.

Ruben and Scott Manthorne in Portland, Maine

A few months ago, when I was speaking at a big event in Portland, Maine, I received a call from Scott Manthorne, one of the co-founders of Athletes & Executives, a private, members-only national organization.

Their members are senior-level business executives, many of whom are former professional athletes. A&E connects their members for the specific purpose of serious business networking.

Scott and I met for lunch and I was impressed with his passion for connecting people. He obviously enjoys doing it because by the time the waiter brought us the check, Scott had given me the names of a dozen people I could contact right away to help build my business.

A few days later Scott called me on the phone and gave me another list of key contacts.

On the set of “Leading Experts”

Just got back from Palm Springs where I got to be a part of a TV show filmed at CBS studios.

Palm Springs is absolutely gorgeous. It’s where all the Hollywood movie stars used to hang out in the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. If you ever get a chance to visit Palm Springs, take advantage of it.

Gabriela on Christmas morning…

When a concerned mother asked General Robert E. Lee what advice he had for her son Lee said, “Teach him to deny himself. To have the discipline to think long term.”

Daniel Goleman, the author of “Emotional Intelligence,” tells of a psychological study done in the 1960s in Stanford University where a group of 4-year-olds were put in a room. They were each given a marshmallow and told that if they could keep from eating their marshmallow until the researcher came back from a quick errand, they would be rewarded with a second marshmallow.

As soon as the researcher closed the door, 3/4 of the kids ate their marshmallos. Only 1/4 of the kids had the discipline to delay gratification for their reward.
